I have often heard about great spices. And I've read in a some articles about this new spice store opening up in Santa Monica. I just never ventured to the store itself. Until today. Hello Penzeys Spices!
Wow.
There are some really very interesting spices there. If you don't feel like cooking or baking when you enter - you most definitely will by the time you leave. How many types of salt do you think you could buy? Well, here in this store it's a whole 6 shelves dedicated to salt. Cinnamon on your recipe list? Come prepared to smell all 6 that they have in the store. Oh wait, you want to make tacos tomorrow night and you hate the store bought stuff. No worries -- they carry that too! Oh I know -- you like buttermilk ranch dressing but aren't quite sure about the stuff you get in the store. What are those ingredients you can't pronounce? Well, they don't have that problem. I could read and understand what was in their spices (LOVE THAT). They have a whole section dedicated to different salad dressings. Buttermilk Ranch, Green Goddess (smells like summer) and more.
The guy at the store had me smelling most of his favorites. Cocoa powder on the brain? You can smell that as well. I was in heaven. They have a spice for everything. They also have affordable gift boxes. For $20 you can get the cook in your life a nice mix of spices. I love this place!
So if you're in the mood for some AMAZING spices -- I highly recommend splurging at Penzey's!
Enjoy!
I might have a bit of an addiction to skincare, great food, amazing books and all other things that makes life a better place. Here are some of my favorite things! Enjoy.
