Spotbot - Best Invention EVER!

I love this little machine.
www.amazon.com
The Bissell Spotbot is the best cleaning invention ever.

It cleans spots on your carpet that get stained. I saw this first on the Ellen Show YEARS ago and thought that it is a great invention. So I bought it myself. I have used it constantly. It cleans up spilled drinks, barf, poop, pen, marker, and pink goop from a plastic toy (don't ask). Does it get everything out? No. But nothing does that I know of at this moment. It does, though, really deep clean your carpet or rugs.

Today, for example, I grabbed it out of the closet to clean up a leaky diaper mess all over the bedroom rug. I ended up finding all sorts of small stains that I "botted" out. It was amazing. I got the poop all cleaned up and no one would ever know that it had been all over the rug. Woo hooo!!!

I love the "walk-away" feature as well as the manual feature. If the stain is more set I highly recommend the walk-away feature. It scrubs that part of your carpet for a good while. I sometimes after will then use the manual feature too.

The manual feature was my best friend today. I had small stains around the rug that needed to be cleaned asap. It was a "fresh" stain so I didn't need the major scrubber. I spent about 15 minutes cleaning the rug and now it looks sooo good.

I love this little machine. And no, I do not work for Bissell or get anything from saying great things about it. But I thought I'd share anyway. If you kids or pets this is a lifesaver!! Highly recommend it!

Hope you enjoy!

Favorite Flower of the Moment

Ahhh the lovely Tuberose (pronounced TO-ber-oze, not tube-rose). I went to the Santa Monica Farmer's Market on Wednesday and kept smelling the most delicious scent. It reminded me of Gardenias, but they were no where to be found.

Finally, I stopped by the flower stall and asked them what was that most delicious scent I kept smelling?! The man immediately knew what I was after and waved me towards the tuberoses. Seriously, I could not believe it. They looked so ... well, boring. Who knew that they could give such a beautiful gift for days to come?!
This is a Gardenia. It's not a bulb as the tuberose is but a bush. They also smell wonderful.

So I bought some. They were worth every penny. I put them on the dining room table and I'm greeted with the most wonderful scent each time I enter the house, sit at the computer, watch the TV or walk to the bedrooms.

They are in bloom in late summer. So if you haven't had the time to pick some up at the market -- I highly recommend it. I'm going back on Wednesday to buy a LOT more!!

Enjoy!

No More Brown, Boring Towels

I just couldn't take it one more day. I had old, scratchy, non-fluffy towels and it drove me crazy. I love fluffy soft towels. They make the day so much brighter.

But, as you might know or guess, I'm not a big spender on things, especially things that will wear out soon or get ruined by the kiddos.

So this was a splurge, but a might fine splurge. I gave away my very BORING, very safe, BROWN towels. I got them for my wedding over 11 yrs ago. They had a fine life with me but it was time for them to go. They were bleached in areas, scratchy and had seen better days.

I replaced them with very soft and very fun towels from Garnet Hill.

Here are the ones that I ordered:
A few of these...

Garnet Hill Regatta Stripe Towels
and a few of these...
Garnet Hill Dot to Dot Towels
and a few of these...
Garnet Hill Damask Towels

and I love them all! My hubby is not quite sure how he feels about all of the colors, stripes and polka-dots but I'm sure he'll come around. My thought is that since we don't have a master bath in this house and it's shared by all why not make it a fun place to be for all of us. I'm tired of brown and boring towels. I want something fun and uplifting to greet me each time I visit the loo.

And these towels from Garnet Hill definitely uplift me as I grudgingly leave my bed each morning to get the kiddos going for school.

Hope you enjoy!

Joshua Tree

I was at a dinner the other night and didn't realize that one of the women there was in her late 20's. I found out quickly when I...
